Today we had 115 deaths in the UK, the death toll went up rapidly. Police can now enforce such as if they see large groups they can forcefully separate the group and tell you to go home, and if the people don’t listen they can fine them.

Waitrose has also done restrictions. They have put tape down so people can see where the 2-metre distance is, and only one person is allowed a time. So I guess that’s a good thing.

Today my mum was working so I played with my brother for a bit and did some reading. We also cleaned the house today, it was really tricky!

I guess see you tomorrow then!

Today we baked some bread, it’s in the oven as I am writing this, I hope it tastes nice. Today we had 13 deaths, which is better than yesterday. No deaths would have been nicer though.

I got an art set today online and am working on my drawing and sketching, which was fun. I also spoke with my grandmother over the phone, which was quite nice.

Prince Charles got diagnosed with Coronavirus today, I hope he and the queen is okay. Police have been patrolling the streets, to make sure people are going out for reasonable things.

The government is going to send around self-testing kits for Coronavirus, I guess this is so every single person doesn’t go to the GP if they have symptoms.

I looked out of my window today, there was literally NO ONE in the streets! Or at least, none that I could see.

I guess I’m done writing for the day.

See you later!

Today was our first day of a lockdown, it wasn’t so bad actually, we did some colouring and I had my online English class. After I played Minecraft online with my friends. We fed my animals and then we had dinner. I had quite a nice day actually.

I’m going to bake some bread tomorrow as we are running out. Homemade bread is probably healthier anyway.

We had 87 deaths today, that is a LOT of deaths, I hope it doesn’t get worse as well.

See you later

23/03//2020

We are now officially in lockdown, I don’t really know what to think. I guess there are 2 ways to think about it. At least now hopefully the cases will go down, and people will not go out unless necessary, then maybe we will be able to contain it.

I really hope that we don’t have a lockdown for too long though, they are saying that we will probably have a lockdown for at least for 3 weeks, I hope it isn’t for too long, because I miss my normal life/classes.

See you guys soon!

48 deaths today in the UK, it’s spreading rapidly. McDonald’s all over the UK has now closed, I LOVE McDonald’s though, so I’m a little disappointed.

I also really want to volunteer to help with shopping, and helping out elderly people or people with health problems, I think it will be nice to help other people out in this time, especially when people need help the most.

The prime minister is saying that if people don’t listen to the government’s advice then they will have to take “tougher measures” I don’t know what that will mean, but I really hope they don’t mean a lockdown.

I know a really good website that tells you about coronavirus and live updates about it. I will put it below:

Today we had 56 deaths, and all the cafe’s, restaurants and all pubs/bars were closed. We went to the beach but we avoided the crowded area and just went to a secluded part of the beach and collected pretty stones/seashells.

Italy, has had 793 deaths today, that is a LOT of deaths in one day. People are saying that this is how the UK will be soon, I really hope that doesn’t happen, I don’t want to get sick, or any of my family members to get sick.

What really scares me that it’s not just elderly people who are dying, there are 40-year-olds dying of the disease, and that is worrying because that means that even young adults are at risk. There are also people in their 20s on a ventilator.

This is really scary now, I really want to see my friends, but I can’t.

See you later

20/03/2020

Schools have closed now officially, so you can guess how packed the park was! Boris Johnson, (the prime minister of the UK) has said that, starting from tonight, all pubs, bars and restaurants will close. The government will as also contribute to 80% of people’s wages.

I missed the cleaner’s baby today, I can’t wait to (hopefully) see her soon! I also missed going on the bus today, usually, we take my brother to his class. (The Arc Centre, I will put the link for this class at the end, be sure to check it out and put some donations in!)

The A&E predicted that this could be worse than Italy’s outbreak, and hospital’s could get SWAMPED by it. That part scares me, because, I don’t want this to be like Italy.

I just want everything to go back to normal, like, before my nan and my grandad passed away, before that, my life was completely normal. Now, however, I just feel like there’s no hope all. My piano teacher said that eventually, everyone will get it, but I don’t agree, I think that, if everyone takes precautions, then they will be alright.

Today, we had 33 deaths in the UK, however in Italy, they had a whopping amount of 627 deaths!!! Now that is a LOT,  I hope it doesn’t get worse, I feel bad for the people in Italy, they must have lost soo many relatives. If there is anyone out there who is feeling miserable about this, remember, it will be ok, eventually this will all be ok in the end!

Things have gotten worse today, we had 40 more deaths today in the UK, I’m getting more worried now, things are not normal anymore. People are going around with face masks, especially the elderly. The government have been talking more about a lockdown, which I am NOT looking forward too. Mama went to Waitrose today and all the veg was gone, pretty much EVERYONE and their mother had bought everything. Nearly everyone coming out of the shop had toilet roll in their trolley.

All schools in the UK are closing tomorrow 20th of march 2020, which means pretty much every child will be at home. Recently, I’ve been playing Minecraft and there have been queue’s

to be getting in, it took me like an hour just to get into the server, everything is laggy so it takes the game a long time to load.

The park was also pretty empty today, there were no schoolkids like there usually are, just a dog walker and a jogger, pretty much at least. I hate this idea of having a lockdown, I really don’t want to stay inside all the time, but I guess I have no choice. It’s better than getting sick I guess.

I’m planning on writing a novel and practising my drawing skills.

We also went to Costa and they have taken up all the chairs and said that now they are only doing takeaway service now to take away the risk of contact.

The cleaner and her baby are not coming tomorrow as she is afraid that it might not be safe, which I guess is a fair point, considering she has a 6-month-old baby, still, I’m still pretty disappointed.

Oh well, I guess now I’ll just have to show a bit of resilience at this time. I wonder when I’m older I will show this to my kids, (if I have kids of course)

I guess I’ll write more tomorrow

Coronavirus2019: A diary of a 12-year-old girl:

18/03/2020

There is a new virus around, Coronavirus. Everyone is getting extremely worried about it, however somehow I don’t feel particularly worried, though it has impacted my daily life immensely. The government are encouraging people not to go out unless necessary, so we are not going out as much. Some of my classes have been cancelled, which makes me quite annoyed.

Yesterday, we walked to Waitrose and it was pretty much EMPTY! All the toilet paper was finished, everyone had been buying it. People are stocking up on food because they are afraid we might have a lockdown, I think its incredibly selfish that people seem to be stocking up on food, and they don’t care if there are other people who might actually need the food. We have an elderly neighbour, Stan, and we checked on him a few days ago in case he needed anything.

I’ve also started walking regularly, so we’ve been going to the park every day. I find it quite nice just to think things over in the park, so I really enjoy my walks. Baba has also been staying home as well, which is nice, though mostly he just stays in the study, working hard.

We haven’t been stocking up really, we just bought a little bit of rice, and pasta and some hand sanitizer, and all this stuff we ordered online. The only thing I’m slightly worried about is my animal’s vegetables, if we have a lockdown then how will we get veg for them? From tomorrow, Tesco’s is going to put a limit that you can only but 3 of the same thing each.

News about the Coronavirus is coming out every day and it is always bad, deaths are increasing by the day and my parents, (and probably every other adult I know) is worried about it. I don’t know why, but I feel like I’m protected by this virus, I feel like it won’t come near me, which is ridiculous I know, seeing as it’s already in London

I guess I’ll write a bit more tomorrow then.

My Trip To Pakistan:

My grandfather got diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in the summer of 2019, so our family decided to have a much delayed get together over Christmas holidays in Islamabad, Pakistan. When we arrived, he wasn’t well, his breathing was bad and it was difficult for him to speak.

A few days later, he was admitted into hospital. Little did I know, that would be the last time I ever saw him. He started off in the oncology ward and he seemed to be doing all right. But over the next week or two he deteriorated and got moved to the intensive care unit.

On the seventh of January 2020 he was looking worse. On the 8th of January 2020 my grandfather passed away…

My grandfather has three sons, my father and his two brothers, all of my grandfather’s sons had kids. His youngest son and his family live with my grandparents.Every year my grandparents used to visit us and my cousins and I have precious memories from when they came.

He LOVED fish and chips so whenever they came to visit us we would have fish and chips at least once. Every morning he would eat his breakfast with us and then go and watch the news. On our walks,he used to tell me stories from when my father and his brothers were little and the mischief they got into.

I used to enjoy going for walks with my grandfather. If my mother wasn’t up in the morning he would make me and my younger brother some DELICIOUS breakfast like french toast or omelette. He taught me how to play solitaire. My grandfather’s nickname for me was Drama Queen because I can be QUITE dramatic sometimes.

Here below is a poem I really like called: Memories, this poem is written by Louise Bailey:

I feel a warmth around me,
like your presence is so near.
And I close my eyes to visualize
your face when you were here.
I endure the times we spent together,
and they are locked inside my heart
As long as I have those memories
we will never be apart.
Even though we cannot speak anymore,
my voice is always there,
because every night before I sleep,
I have you in my prayer.
